Forgot to mention

I believe previously I have mentioned I am a major klutz! Well, I have done it again. I was trying to break down boxes to help throw them away and I cut my fingertip pretty bad on Saturday night (no stitches though thank you!).  You wonder how?  Well, I was using scissors to cute tape and my finger was ill-placed in the middle and the scissors closed and voila! I was hurt! Funny thing is that the puppy was quicker to react than the hubby! The puppy followed me around while I got a towel to wrap on my finger.  Hubby had to be told that I needed first aid type stuff, repeatedly.  He is such a guy!
So I am typing with only nine fingers now, and making way more typos than normal! This was not a good week to injure any portion of my hand, let alone my fingers.  Besides moving, I have three projects, one paper and two tests all this week!
See you once I recover from moving and Thanksgiving! Be careful with those scissors!

House update, pre-moving

The BIG MOVE is TUESDAY! I cannot believe that this day is finally here!
Hope you had a nice weekend! Hubby and I spent this weekend fixing up the house some more! The new windows's frame is stained and the curtains are hung in the den! The den and the front guest bedroom are pretty much ready! Now it is time to fill up the rest of the house!

Figured I would give you a few sneek peaks at the house. This is the walk-in closet in the master bedroom, which I am starting to move our clothes into it.  I am not showing you this just because of the wonderful space for all my clothes and shoes, which does make me happy, but to highlight the floors.  I love how my floors turned out after being refinished.

My lovely light in the guest powder room makes me really happy also.
I cannot wait until all of my stuff is unpacked and in its place.

And a realy bad picture of the guest room that was once known as the yellow room.  This bed used to belong to Hubby's Great-grandmother.  The dresser and wash stand still need repairs but I am excited to have such nice furniture!

Howdy

House is making good progress. I promise a full update when I get back with my head above water.
In the mean time here is a new pic of the pup in his jacket.

My House Schedule

We now have a somewhat firm timeline scheduled for the house! Wahoo!
Our electrician's final visit is tomorrow!
The general repairman is done!
Our painter is working this week and Monday of next week before taking off to allow for our flooring guy to work.
Our floors are half-way done! We are now onto getting the hardwoods refinished! We have them coming Tues - Fri or Sat. next week and then they will be done!
Our painter will return the first week of Novemeber and finish up that week.
I am trying to schedule the cleaning lady to return on Nov. 7th. Since I do not believe a deep cleaning will occur in one day I am giving her two weekends in a row to help with that!
We are MOVING the furniture from storage and MIL's house to our house on Tues., Nov. 17th!
While the majority of our furniture and stuff will be there on the 17th, we will not be moving from the apartment until the weekend of thanksgiving (clearly after turkey day).
I am so excited about moving! Wahoo!
That also means that when I am done with school, we can move our wedding gifts from my grandmother's closet.
I cannot wait until Dec. when I am finished unpacking stuff and the house will be more ordered! I am also ready to see my stuff again!

The cat is about to be a male no more

Tomorrow, the kitten is going in for HIS operation.  And I am excited, because it means that the cat has made it until this time without starting to spray! Wahoo! I have never seen a cat spray, but I have heard it is not a pleasant thing.  (In fact, I am not even really sure what that means, and I do not intend to find out!)
Unfortunately, the cat will be staying at the vet overnight due to the insanity known as the Puppy, who I am quite sure will not know how to leave said kitten alone.
And I am ashamed to admit but a break from the kitten will be nice.  In the past week, he has broken the remote and hidden the batteries (only found two so far out of the four he has hidden, both of which were found in the mouth of the puppy...definitely not a good thing).  He took the bag of dog treats and ripped it to shreds!  He took down his own bag of items and let the dog find the two vacuum sealed bags of wet cat food.  Imagine how much fun that is.  He has broken a glass tray that was on the dresser.  He has knocked over my wooden tray that I fill with miscelanous things I use. (Searched for the pearl earring twice before moving them permenantly to the jewelry bag after usage. See I learn things!)  And this does not count for his dumping out half the contents of his litter box onto the floor or helping the dog eat the sofa cushion (not a good safe, atleast...).  As you can see, this cat is WILD and quite a handful!
Now I just have to keep him away from food all night and in the morning when getting dressed! This will be fun!

Ran out of thoughtful posts so on to randomness

Here are some random facts about me:
1. I loved my wedding dress. Believe it or not, I was not a girl that spent her whole life dreaming about her wedding.  But I did once put a thought into my wedding dress (it may or may not have been due to trying them on to find a debutante dress), and I foudn one that met my every expectation.  I knew going into the shopping that I did NOT want a strapless dress.  I also knew that with my coloring I needed an off-white or ivory shade of a dress. Other than that, I had no clue.  I was lucky in that my dress was the fifth dress I tried on.  It was a gorgeous v-neck with a full skirt complete with pickups accented by crystals. I did not think I would like crystals, but the way this was done was just right for me.  I fell in love even more when I found out the price tag. Yup, my dress only cost me about $650 with alterations! And it was due to being off-the-rack, something that I was not even looking into until I saw the DRESS! So there you go knowing about my dress!
(Sorry no photos, maybe I will post one with my head cut off tomorrow!)
2. I hate the cold, but love sweaters. I know how random. I love sweaters and scarves yet cannot stand cold weather. Maybe I like them because they warm me up when it is cold. Who really knows how this odd mind works!
3. I know more about football than my husband and any of my ex-boyfriends.  I did date a guy that thought he understood football, but sadly he was delusioned.  (All but one of them have rooted for the same team so it is not just a competitive spirit.) Do not worry, beside Hubby, who self professes to be ignorant, I let everyone else think they knew more than me.
4. The thing that excites me the most about moving besides getting everything that has lived in storage for two years back, is the fact that all my shoes and clothes will be protected in a closet.  Yes, hubby currently has the closet. I guess this is due to the fact that he lived in the apartment before me and I owned the extra closet rack thingy.  So I have had my expensive bought by my parents sweater that is my favorite chewed up by big black dog, and my cat and puppy constantly move my shoes around when playing or chewing on them.  I want some protection.
5. Building on me hating the cold, I love warm soups when it is cold. I also cannot wait to get a fire going in the house and curl up reading a good book after a delicious dinner of french onion soup.  Unfortunately, Hubby hates my favorite soup mentioned above, so who wants to come over and make it worth my while to make french onion soup.
Have a great day!

Prayer Request

I have a little prayer request for all you fellow bloggers. One of my oldest and dearest friends, we'll call her E, is pregnant.  While that is cause for celebration, the mom-to-be has had more than her share of health complications in the past.  I do not want to go into details, but I will let you know that she has already been identified as having a high-risk pregnancy and assigned to an OB that is skilled to handle the myriad of possible complications.  I am asking for you all to remember her in your prayers over the course of her pregnancy (due in May sometime).  I am praying that both mother and baby are healthy and happy throughout all the pregnancy.
In other news, this is the first one of my good friends that is pregnant. You know that means, Baby Gifts, Baby Shower, etc.! Wahoo! I am so excited.
She plans on finding out whether this is a boy or girl at the appropriate time, so the shower will be either boy or girl themed.  If anyone has any amazing suggestions just let me know!  This will probably be the first "event" hosted at my new house! I cannot wait until the spring when we can celebrate E's new child.
